Used tractor truck inspection checklist for export buyers
A practical evidence checklist for engine, gearbox, chassis, tyres, cab, documents and road-test video before paying a deposit.
A used tractor truck should be evaluated as one identifiable vehicle. Ask for current, dated evidence tied to the chassis number—not only a model description or old catalog photos.
Identify the exact truck
The model year, mileage and condition should be tied to visible identifiers and current media before a commercial decision.
- Chassis or VIN photo
- Engine identification plate
- Odometer and dashboard warning lights
- Current walk-around video with date reference
Inspect the powertrain and chassis
A cold start and road test reveal more than a polished exterior. Request continuous video where practical.
- Cold start, idle and exhaust smoke
- Engine oil and coolant condition
- Gear selection, clutch and retarder operation
- Frame rails, cross-members, fifth wheel and suspension
Confirm documents and shipment scope
The quotation and contract should identify the vehicle, included accessories and the agreed inspection and export deliverables.
- Export eligibility and available ownership documents
- Tyre condition and included spare parts
- Known repairs or replaced components
- FOB or CIF scope and named port
